Hello, beautiful backers of our project who are receiving physical rewards! We wanted to share a brief shipping update with all of you. Starting next week, we’re going to be locking your address in BackerKit. You should receive an email alert on Monday or Tuesday giving you a final chance to make any changes in case you changed addresses. You can change your mailing address through your survey link at any time until we lock them mid next week. If you lost your survey link, enter the email address you used on Kickstarter/BackerKit in the “Lost your Survey” box at our BackerKit page. If you miss the email deadline and need to change your address or can’t access your survey, please contact us immediately through BackerKit! For digital-only backers, no action is needed.
There are still a few backers who still need to fill out their surveys, and Apple’s Private Relay might be causing some difficulty with our emails getting through to those folks. Likewise, we’ve had trouble charging a few cards for late backers and cannot ship your rewards until that succeeds. We’ve been trying to reach you! Please get in touch if you need help updating your payment method or haven’t been receiving emails from BackerKit.
The current plan for shipping is to have packages going out starting around December 15th for some backers, and finishing as late as early January depending on how quickly we can work. Delivery to the United States should be pretty fast, but international delivery will probably take longer! Domestic shipping will be done via USPS (United States Postal Service), and international shipping will be done via USPS First Class International or UPS Worldwide Expedited, depending on the destination. For international backers, we’ll have customs forms on our packages to help with any duties/VAT involved for receiving. If you are concerned you’ll be unable to receive a package during this time, we can ship it later! Message us on BackerKit.
We had hoped to start shipping sooner, but there was an unfortunate, longer-than-expected manufacturing delay with the Starmap. The other delay has been getting our pins and patches through customs, which should be done by next week (we say, crossing all of our fingers and toes). As the Spathi say, “We’ll believe it when we see it!” And also probably “We’ll run when we see it.”
The plan for shipping in December is contingent on those things happening on time. There are a sizable number of backers who aren’t getting a Starmap, and if that’s the only thing still delayed, we’ll simply start sending out Starmap-less packages first.
Even amidst all the delays and hurdles, getting everything prepped and seeing it come together is so exciting! We really can’t wait to get these things in your hands. We have a longer update in the works with more details about development, but for now, please enjoy this tour of our mailroom and shipping warehouse.
